Though coffee enema is largely considered as safe for our body if conducted according to correct guidelines and procedures but still there are some commonly known side effects or danger associated with Coffee which are as follows:
Many people are concerned about the caffeine addiction that might be caused due to regular use of coffee enema. But if coffee enema is conducted following the proper procedure of using less than 2 teaspoon of coffee powder then the amount is not possible to lead to serious caffeine addiction.
Though there is no scientific evidence, but it is said that during the coffee enema procedure there is a possibility of losing the good or friendly bacteria known as probiotics while getting rid of harmful bacteria away from our body.
The frequent or extensive use of coffee enemas could result in dehydration. It is also said that the frequent or extensive use of any type of device designed to temporarily excite the nerves of the colon (such as an enema, colonic, or suppository) can also sometimes lead to the decreased function of the bowels.
The use of coffee which is too hot can lead to great injury to both anus and your intestinal tract, and it can cause great pain due to potentially dangerous burns. One needs to carefully test the temperature of coffee or the solution to use as an enema to make certain it is not hot enough to cause injury.
